HAB, the Hass Avocado Board, was set up under a Federal Market Order. This Market Order assesses all Hass avocados sold in the United States, on a per pound basis. The funds are used for advertising, promotions, and market development. The Board is made up of representatives for each of the countries exporting Hass avocados to the United States.
The HAB website has lots of valuable information on the current US avocado market, including detailed reports on inventories and sales prices, as well as extensive regional market analysis.
